when we lyfed in Chelmsford after work my stepfather David used to take me to see thee lyghts and we used to play games in thee many amusement archades thee lyghts looked so pretty as we walked up thee long pier at thee end they had shops and on thee sea front they had Peter pans play ground and never never land as thee air was full of fish and chips as people enjoying them selves and thee foresters pub was very busy there was cafes and lots of people from london sadly in 1976 thee pier cought fyre and a few years later my husband and Jack and I returned to Southend but thee lights have sadly gone
