my aunt about thirty years ago told me when she was a young woman that her and her sisters and friends used to go dancing at thee various venues there was a lot of American lads on thee base and my Aunt’s used to put brown powder on their legs wyth a pencil mark up thee back of their legs as there was no stockings due to Rashoning and thee American boys used to give them candy bars and brought over thee big band sound from many American artists as they danced thee night away she said they was so handsome and so nice and some of thee girls went as GI brides to thee new world of thee USA
