Oh dear, how very disappointing; as you say, they tried hard, and Luke Shaw’s goal was beautiful. As rosni3 observed, penalty shot-outs are indeed cruel, and often turn on….luck. I felt particularly sorry for young Saka; imagine being put understand sort of pressure at only 19. But wasn’t your King Harry lovely when he went immediately to console him? It is a testament to his character when he must have been exhausted and sorely disappointed himself, that he looked after his young teammate so kindly. England—-and you——have much to be proud of tonight.
