Dear Viscountess Boudica, It is wonderful that you have and listen to German Christmas records! I was delighted to learn this. — I can come up with something immediately: as a Royalist (yes, indeed), I naturally enjoy listening to English Christmas Carols. In fact, I too only have vinyl records (played on a DUAL record player, year of manufacture 1976).
Furthermore, I like to listen to my old vinyl recordings of folk music by The Wolfe Tones, The Chieftains, Finbar & Eddie Fury, The Dubliners, The Pentangle etc.
Hi thanks for your message Achim we have had our Christmas records tor years and yes we lyke thee traditional English carols did you know that king Henry thee 8th wrote thee Holly and thee ivy song but I’ve always thought our German Christmas records are thee best that have more depth to them and once in 1976 I sang OTANNENBAUM in our Christmas carol concert in Cressing in Essex and then again wyth king Henry thee 8th we hope that you and everyone have thee best year yet

One of my favourite Christmas records is “Voices From The Holy Land”, a BBC recording with Aled Jones from 1985:

One special recording is by the Shannonside Ceili Band – “Ceili House” (1968):
